Overheard at the dinner table, just prior to dinner last night:
Daughter (tunefully): "Lucy in the sky-y with di-i-a-monds... Lucy in the sky-y with di-i-a-monds....... ahhhhh, ahhhhh...."
Husband (inquisitively): "Who sings that song, anyway?"
Daughter (informatively): "The Beatles!"
Husband (sarcastically): "Yeah. Let's keep it that way!"
Daughter (you can imagine the tone and facial expression here): "Nyyaaah!"

I shouldn't have laughed, but I did.

I like your hubby. lol!
Never let the kids know what bugs you.
Good for her. Let the kid sing. It means she's happy and we want happy kids. And I'm glad you laughed.
Love,
Lola
Lola - I definitely agree, let the kid sing! She even has a nice voice. That's why I'm annoyed with myself for laughing at my husband's remark... I don't really want him to stifle her!
But then again, when she was away this summer for six weeks, what did she tell me she missed the most about home? Why, the sarcastic and biting wit, of course. She doesn't feel loved without it.
I'm not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing...
That kind of made me snort too!
I love that joke and almost used it on my daughter while on our road trip. But I'd already picked on her enough, so I opted not to.
